Slip Rings for Wind Turbines

United Equipment Accessories has been designing and manufacturing wind turbine slip rings since the early 2000s. During this time, UEA has supplied tens of thousands of slip rings throughout the world in wind turbines of all sizes. In general, wind turbines have increased in size to achieve greater output and lower the total cost of kilowatt-hour production. It is this trend that has pushed wind turbines into offshore locations to allow for even larger and taller turbines.

While utility-grade turbines have become larger, residential and farm- or ranch-focused turbines have emphasized greater efficiency in a small package. While many companies that have focused on smaller turbines have come and gone, but today, a strong market still exists for small wind turbines.

UEA’s vast experience in the wind turbine slip ring has allowed our products to be tailored to perform at the highest levels. One such example is our improved brushes that can last ten or more years. UEA’s design flexibility allows us to meet a wide range of amperage and voltage combinations, as well as mounting and envelope restrictions. We have experience building precise circuits for data transmission in pitch control slip rings and understand the demands of power transmitting hub slip rings. If you have questions regarding wind turbine slip rings, please let us share our expertise and design a solution for your unique application.
