United Equipment Accessories (UEA) is unique in our comprehensive testing for all our hydraulic swivels before they leave our facility. We do complete testing to ensure that our customers receive a fully functioning swivel that performs the way our customers expect it to.
UEA utilizes a 2,000 sq. ft. pharmaceutical-grade clean room environment for hydraulic swivel assembly and testing. This environment is kept extremely clean (HEPA 99.9% efficient at .43 microns) to help limit any contaminants from getting into the system. UEA is aware of how cleanliness is of the utmost importance when using hydraulic fluids; even the slightest amount of debris can cause problems.
In our clean room, we install hydraulic seals and manually press the spool into the housing, allowing the operator to physically feel if there is any binding occurring (ensuring the seals are not damaged in the process).
Next, the assembly is placed into a testing machine where it is prefilled with hydraulic fluid and rotated in each direction while monitoring the torque, making sure the swivel does not experience high torque. The hydraulic fluid is continually monitored at a 17/15/12 level for cleanliness since even the smallest amount of debris in the fluid can cause issues.
Then we pressurize each circuit to 1.5 times the operating pressure (with a max. of 7500 psi) looking to see that there are no hydraulic leaks in the swivels. All vital torque values, pressure values, and oil cleanliness specs are recorded and stored for each swivel to make sure the swivel can handle the real-world applications.
Finally, we remove the swivel from the testing machine and plug all the ports and transfer them on to be painted. After which they are carefully packaged and shipped.
Every step in this process is done with care and precision so that our customers can receive high-quality swivel especially made for them. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
