Cord Reel Information:
United Equipment Accessories Cord Reel History
United Equipment Accessories first started manufacturing electric
cord reels in 1984.
The decision was made to use other reel manufacturers for Electric Cord Reels to lower
capital investment. United Equipment is able to customize a cord reel based on the customers
specific needs and application.
Common Electric Cord Reel Applications
- Jib Crane Installations
- Drop Cord Applications
- Conveyor Systems
- Bar Code Reader Systems in Warehouses
- Pendent Cable Control Extension
- Motor Home Power Supply
- Welding Cable Storage
- Testing Equipment
- Machine Tools
Types of Cable used on Electric Cord Reels
The
commonly used type of cable is SOW-A. This is neoprene jacketed and 600V. rated. In
more rugged applications the SDN is used because it is more flexible and will last three
to four times longer than SOW-A. SDN has a smaller O.D. for spool capacity considerations
and less weight in stretch applications. Other types of cable include
data type electronic cables, and multi-purpose special cables for multi-amperage/voltage
combinations.
Service and Maintenance Needs for Electric Cord Reels
Electric Cord Reels manufactured by United Equipment Accessories should be relatively
maintenance free. There will be normal wear and tear with lubrication of the
spring if necessary. Normal maintenance is all that will be required of the Electric
Cord Reels.
