About United Equipment Accessories, Inc.UEA's HistoryUnited Equipment Accessories, Inc. was founded in 1952. Our original product line was a component kit called a remote control. These control kits were used to remotely operate a truck mounted crane or excavator from the rear operator cab. A slip ring, then called a collector ring, was an important component of the remote control kits. We were unable to find reliable slip ring components for them. In the early 1960’s we designed and patented our own line of electrical slip rings. Today we have become one of the largest slip ring manufacturers in the world, known for rugged and reliable designs for heavy-duty applications. UEA cable reels were first introduced to the market in 1982. This was in response to numerous requests from cable reel users to produce a product with a reliable slip ring component. In addition to the standard three and four conductor models commonly used, we are particularly geared toward special applications such as low level and data signal applications. UEA electrical transmission controllers for off highway vehicles were developed in the late 1960’s. Our pneumatic swivels are used with slip rings to offer customers an electro/pneumatic swivel package. Both products originated from our beginnings of supplying components to the construction equipment market. In 2007, UEA became the sole U.S. distributor of Decril cable chains. Decril is known for designing and manufacturing quality cable chains worldwide. We customize each order, working with our customers in the design process. Like other UEA products, our cable chain design succeeds where other manufacturers might have failed. The Decril rugged, reliable designs are a “family” fit with our UEA products.
